The ruling says exactly that, with one catch: the conviction stands.

The BBC reports a road rage killer's sentence was quashed because an AI video of his victim was shown in court.

Before you read on. Your call?

The Arizona Court of Appeals vacated the manslaughter sentence because the AI video was not reliable, a depiction built from the imaginings of the victim's sister, as 12News and Fox 10 Phoenix quote the ruling on Yahoo and the AP reports on AOL. Fox 10 Phoenix reports the guilty verdict stands and a second sentencing follows. The BBC gives the term as 10 years; Fox 10 Phoenix and The Telegraph give 10.5.

The twist

The judge gave more than the 9 years prosecutors asked for, per The Telegraph on Yahoo.

10.5years in the manslaughter sentence the Arizona Court of Appeals vacated
9years of prison the prosecutor asked for at the original sentencing
10years the BBC gives for the original sentence
