Independent technical audits found 41 of 2,000+ claimed plugins actually work, tenfold token overhead vs alternatives, and a security sandbox that excludes network and process visibility.
The twist
the free tool runs on DeepSeek's API. The API just got 355% more expensive. The repo collected 135K stars as a free front door to a newly expensive back end. DeepSeek's official reason: 'allocate resources more reasonably.' The timing says: acquire users first, charge later.
